About animal handling at the airport
Sweden is one of the few countries that does not have rabies. Therefore, we have strict rules that must be followed in order to bring an animal into the country.
Animals travelling as baggage or as cargo
- Animals travelling as baggage (checked in or in hand luggage) together with their owner are handled by the ground handling company and Swedish Customs in the passenger terminal.
- Animals travelling as cargo (so-called commercial animals) are handled by the freight companies and the border inspection post in the freight terminals.
