Evacuation

Evacuation alarms can be triggered in the following ways:

• Pre-recorded message through announcement in speakers in the following languages: Swedish and English
• Verbal announcement in the public address system via microphone
• Alarm bells (sirens)
• Oral with the help of a megaphone

• A decision to evacuate is initially notified to the airport's OPC, which contacts the emergency authorities.
• Evacuation will begin immediately and the Airport Duty Officer (ADO) will collaborate with the Police Operations Manager and the Rescue Leader at the municipal rescue service. 
• In the event of selective evacuation, the possibility of continuing operations in premises that are not affected shall be reviewed by the relevant actor, in cooperation with Swedavia, the Police and the Municipal Rescue Service.

For information about escape routes, study the evacuation plans that are located in selected places in the terminal building. 

• The check-in hall is facing the street side, the walkway to the north towards the assembly point is used.
• The arrivals hall is evacuated towards the land side.
• The departure hall is spaced via the gates to the inner ramp road and follows the ramp road to the north.
• The assembly point is reached at the gate north of Ramp Building North below gate bridge 12 (See the emergency evacuation orientation sketch found under "About the airport" → "In case of crisis" → "Evacuation" on the extranet).
• There are also several escape routes towards landside that can be used.
• If the threat is directed at an aircraft parked on the apron at the terminal building or a suspected dangerous object in the level 4 room, evacuation of the departure hall shall take place via the check-in hall and the arrivals hall.

• The assembly point for evacuation of the terminal building on the landside is at the parking area between the parking garages in front of the terminal building.
• If you space on airside, the evacuation point is at the gate north of Ramp Building North below gate bridge 12.
• If the regular assembly point cannot be used, a decision on a new assembly point is made by the Airport Duty Officer-ADO in consultation with the Police Operations Manager or the Rescue Leader at the municipal rescue service.
