Purpose and goal
In order for Swedavia's airports to be a safe and secure place for our passengers, visitors, partners and employees, aviation safety is always a top priority at all levels, parts and processes, regardless of commercial, operational, environmental or other internal and external requirements. This priority is reflected in the order of Swedavia's key words:

Aviation safety is a must. By promoting a positive safety culture, characterised by systematic aviation safety work and a high level of safety awareness, Swedavia ensures that all employees and partners have aviation safety as their highest priority.
Through proactive systematic aviation safety work, Swedavia prevents and manages risks and contributes to the achievement of the set business goals in a safe and efficient manner.
Basic rules
- Swedavia's management and all employees must always take responsibility for and understand their own role in aviation safety work and set an example for customers and other stakeholders.
- Swedavia's management will continuously highlight and demonstrate its commitment to the aviation safety policy.
- At Swedavia, it is a matter of course to comply with applicable legislation, as well as to comply with applicable international, national and internal rules, requirements and regulations.
- Swedavia will establish aviation safety objectives that are followed up through both reactive and proactive safety indicators with the aim of minimising the risk of accidents as far as is practically reasonable (the ALARP principle).
- Swedavia's management must create the conditions for working safely and ensure that there are sufficient resources and qualified personnel to carry out tasks and assignments in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Investigations of incidents should be carried out with the aim of increasing flight safety and not investigating the issue of guilt. Swedavia applies a culture of fairness in which mistakes are accepted as a natural part of human activity. Even one's own mistakes can be reported without fear of reprisals. Individuals should not be blamed for unintentional errors, but intentional crimes, sabotage, gross negligence or gross negligence are not acceptable.
- Swedavia will actively participate in local, regional, national and international aviation safety work, with the aim of improving safety for the entire aviation industry, and, where appropriate, use acquired best practice.
- Swedavia's management will ensure that the aviation safety policy is communicated to all employees and partners, and follow up that they have taken on board the implications.
In all decisions that are made, at all levels and parts and in all processes, aviation safety must be the highest priority.
Follow-up
Swedavia will work on continuous improvements through continuous analyses, investigations and audits. All deviations, incidents and sources of risk must be reported without delay.
If there is a need for an in-depth investigation, the investigation shall include a cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive measures. In addition, follow-up of the implementation and effect of the measures shall be carried out.
