Driving training at Bromma Stockholm Airport

To book Swedavia staff: Email your need to kortillstand.bma@swedavia.se. The airport will then contact you for joint planning of training sessions.

• • For booking undergraduate courses, you must WAIT for a decision from Swedavia before you register for a training place for steps 2 & 3. 
  • For 24-month  refresher training bookings, you can book a training place directly, you do not have to wait for a decision, Swedavia will contact you if something is unclear/incorrect.

A white driving permit is obtained after the student has completed Bromma's simplified driving training basic or repetition 24 months with a passing grade at one of Swedavia's approved training providers.     The training is aimed at the DMA operators' own staff and subcontractors who have to drive vehicles in the White Traffic Area .     

A red driving permit is obtained after the student has completed driving training basic or repetition 24 months with a passing result. The training gives the driver the right to drive vehicles in red and white traffic areas. The training is held in 3 stages:

Step 1 - Online training that contains basic knowledge regarding driving vehicles at the airport and knowledge tests where at least 80% correct answers are required.

Step 2 - Theoretical and practical site-specific training where the instructor transfers prerequisites and knowledge and the student practically practices driving vehicles in the airport environment.

Step 3 – Check-out where the student completes a "driving test" based on instructions from the assessor.

A Green/White-striped driving permit is obtained after the student has completed basic or refresher training in the 24-month manoeuvring area with a passing result. The training gives the driver the right to drive vehicles throughout the airside. Applications for manoeuvre training are made via email to kortillstand.bma@swedavia.se.
Note: It is only actors who are considered to have daily tasks in the area of manoeuvring that the air traffic control will accept the application for, others do NOT meet the criteria.  After the application is approved, the student must be booked into LFV's phraseology training fraseologiutbildning@lfv.se

Step 1 - LFV's phraseology education. ATTENTION! You are expected to have prior knowledge of the airport's geography & designations before you attend this training, such as knowing the names of taxiways, positions, etc. See maps in Airport Regulation. The instructor has the right to send you out if he or she assesses that you cannot continue the course due to lack of prior knowledge. 

Step 2 - Theoretical and practical site-specific training where the instructor transfers prerequisites and knowledge and the student practically practices driving vehicles in the airport environment.

Step 3 – Check-out where the student completes a "driving test" based on instructions from the assessor

Entry requirements for Red & White driving permit

• Valid driver's license approved to drive on Swedish roads, at least category B, (taken with you during training).
  
• Have an operational need to drive vehicles approved  by the airport.
  
• Airport badge.

If you have work tasks that require driving a vehicle in the manoeuvring area on a daily basis, you should contact kortillstand.bma@swedavia.se.

Entry requirements for Green/White-striped driving permit

• Completed driving training is the basis for a Red Driving Permit.
• Have an operational need to drive vehicles approved  by the airport.
• Certificate of passing the language test (Swedish) according to the Swedish Transport Agency, which must be sent to Swedavia.
• Attended LFV's phraseology training. Certificates must be sent to Swedavia.

The driving permit is valid for 24 months, but 60 days before the validity expires, a text message is sent from the system for authorisations (BKA) to the person concerned with login details to complete the refresher training, Swedavia's online training. NOTE: If you have changed your phone number during the employment period, it is your responsibility to update it with Swedavia Service Center.

The employer must fill in the form Ansökan om förnyat körtillstånd 24 månader and send this to the specified email address.

The student must be able to present a certificate from completed online training to the instructor at the time of the course, otherwise the student risks having to leave the training and will still be invoiced for the entire training cost.   

Note: Persons with a driving permit have the ultimate responsibility for knowing when the validity period expires.

For those who have qualifications in the area of manoeuvring and want to do the refresher training for a red driving permit and a green/white-striped driving permit on the same day, fill in the form and email the need to kortillstand.bma@swedavia.se. The airport will then contact you for joint planning of training sessions, both external and internal actors.

Drivers who have not driven a vehicle on Airside in the last 3-12 months are no longer considered to be eligible to drive a vehicle on Airside. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that the employee in question does not drive any vehicle until he has completed Bromma's refresher training with a passing result.   otherwise, the authorisation must be terminated and returned to the Swedavia Service Centre.  

The refresher training takes place in two stages:

Step 1 - Operators fill in the form AAnmälan till refreshutbildning för körtillstånd 3-12 månader and complete the online training. 

Step 2 -  After the online training, the driver must complete the airport's practical driving according to the template published below. The driver must carry out the practical driving with any driver who has an active driving permit at Bromma and who has driven a vehicle in the last 3 months. The document must be signed and documented by the employer.

Note! After completing the refresher training, the original validity period of the driving permit applies.

Drivers who have not driven vehicles on airside for the past 12 months or longer are no longer considered to be eligible to drive vehicles on airside. The driver's employer is responsible for returning the driving permit to Bromma Service Center.
