A FATO (Final approach and take-off area) and expansion of the maneuvering area (as specified in picture below, green area) will be commissioned on 2026-06-12 10:00 local time.
A FATO corresponds to a runway intended for helicopter traffic.
This Airport information (AI) complements the AI that parts of Östra transportvägen will be closed on 2026-06-11.
Consequences? Who is particularly affected?
The majority of helicopter traffic to and from Arlanda will use FATO for take-off and landing. Vehicle traffic and other transports that have previously passed on the Östra transportvägen at taxiway LY may not enter the maneuvering area without clearance from air traffic control.
Vehicles entering the maneuvering area shall have transponder and certificates required to enter maneuvering area.
